Technical highlights:


Rugged Design

• The rugged die-cast magnesium housing with impact absorbing protector strips on its edges protects the Field PG M2 from shocks and vibrations.
• The folding carrying handle offers a safe grip during transportation on the factory floor.
• The new industrial design with its dark colors is resistant to dirt.
• The metallized plastic parts on the internal surface of the housing protect against electromagnetic interference – comparable with the effect of a Faraday cage (EMC/EMS-tested).

Interfaces

• All current interfaces for industrial applications are integrated directly on the device – just connect and get going!
• 2x 2 USB 2.0 interfaces – each pair provides a total of 1 A for a stable power supply to external devices.
• Industrial WLAN, based on the WLAN Standards 802.11 a, b and g, permits secure and wireless communication to the PLCs.

Hardware components

• Intel® Core™2 Duo processor provides high performance and low energy consumption.
• The Lithium-Ion battery supplies the Field PG M2 with power for up to 3,5 hours.
• The crystal-clear 15" display with XGA or SXGA+ resolution at up to 1400 x 1050 pixels, reduces eye strain and supports ergonomic operation.
• The main memory of up to 1x 2 GB DDR 2 RAM and a clock speed of 667 MHz facilitates swift execution and parallel processing of several applications.
• The removable 80 or 160 GB SATA HDD hard disk can easily be replaced according to the local conditions and the software status required.
• Using the multi-standard DVD RW burner the data is written direct to an optical medium.

Software

• The integrated data security generates an automatic backup at programmable intervals and facilitates the easy restoration of the backed up data when required.
• The SIMATIC software is ready installed on the Field PG M2 and can be enabled by means of a license key.
• The SIMATIC HMI software SIMATIC WinCC flexible Advanced is ready installed on the Field PG M2 and can be enabled by means of a license key.

Field PG M hard-disk kit

• The hard-disk kit supports easy changeover between office and service enviroment or different software versions.
• The hard-disk kit consists out of
  - 160 GB SATA hard disk with metal frame,
  - Torx screwdriver and
  - protective bag in Field PG rucksack design.
