Distributed I/O for hazardous areas

The SIMATIC ET 200iSP distributed I/O system is the economical solution for areas subject to explosion hazards. The intrinsically safe, modular I/O station is particularly flexible and requires minimum engineering, installation and cabling overhead. In addition to the flameproof power supply and the interface module for PROFIBUS DP, which can also be configured redundantly, the station can accommodate as many as 32 electronic modules for a maximum of 256 digital or 128 analog signals. Existing analog or HART field devices can also be connected in a simple manner.

• Direct installation in areas subject to gas or dust explosion hazards, i.e. in Zone 1 and 2 as well as in Zones 21 and 22

Fieldbus isolating transformer The fieldbus isolating transformer RS-485-IS makes the PROFIBUS DP intrinsically safe. It can be used wherever communications exceed potentially explosive areas, i.e. above zone 1 or zone 21.
