Response Times on Non-clocked PROFIBUS DP
A typical PROFIBUS DP configuration comprises a DP master
and several DP slaves on a single DP line. Programming devices or operator panels
are often operated on the same DP line. Potential response and cycle times are
of interest even in the conception phase. Performing measurements on typical
configurations can be useful in answering these questions.

Robust and Powerful Controller for Embedded Automation
SIMATIC Embedded Automation has been extended to include
the SIMATIC S7-mEC modular controller. The new product is particularly robust
and powerful and, in addition, it offers impressive openness and modularity.
SIMATIC S7-mEC integrates control, HMI and PC functionality in one device. The
new Embedded Controller is configured and commissioned like a standard SIMATIC
S7-300 Controller.

SIMATIC ET 200S CPU Now on PROFINET – Also as
Failsafe Version
The SIMATIC ET 200S distributed IO system has been supplemented
with a new interface module IM 151-8 PN/DP with CPU functionality, which is also
available as a failsafe CPU. The IM 151-8 PN/DP CPU has a PROFINET interface
(with 3 ports for linear structure and PG functions) on-board and can optionally
be expanded with a PROFIBUS-DP Master Module. The IM 151-8 PN/DP CPU
is based on the CPU 314 and is a PROFINET IO-Controller that also supports the
real-time (RT) and isochronous real-time (IRT) properties.

New Digital Electronic Module 2 DO Relay for SIMATIC
ET 200iSP
Signals with a higher energy demand are often required
for the connection of certain actuators, e.g. solenoid valves, hydraulic valves,
DC contactors and signal lamps. In order to connect such devices, there is a
2 DO Relay module with two outputs each with 2A output current for SIMATIC ET
200iSP. The contacts are normally open with galvanic isolation from the supply
voltage.
